I just bought and planted some Dutch Iries, will they bloom this year?

They usually get planted in the fall cause they are spring flowering.BUT mine bloomed when moved& they we're lifted in spring,but laid in box a month before planting.They don't bloom well for me,but one has actually bloomed this year.I think too much shade is not good.they would have to have foliage already to bloom.They bloom March-April.I've not had my blues bloom since moved them here.Its been 4 years.Seems only my whites bloom anymore.
good luck...and if not this year you'll have blooms next year.I mulch mine with leaves& i spray my LA iris with manure in spring.They need thinned.

Dutch Irises need to be planted in the fall to bloom the following spring. In warmer climates they will send up foliage that fall. They need a cold period to bloom. If you plant them in the spring you'll still get foliage, but probably no blooms.
