WANT SOME? laugh Duh

[Linked Image]

This is Rachel Ray's 5 minute fudge recipe, but I add other things and change it around each time. This time, I added some almond extract - yummy and tastes like cherries - and tiny marshmallows. I only sprinkled the walnuts on the top, in case people don't like them - they are easier to pick off the top, than out of the middle, right? And aren't those Chinese take out containers the best? I also give a decorative knife/spreader with each fudge gift.

Here's a link to her original recipe, which is made to look like a wreath.

Weezie, thank you for your kind words in regard to the death of my friend, Edna, of the Edna C. dahlia fame.
One of the things given me is her old recipe for SEE'S fudge.
I'll be glad to post this, just let me know, everyone.

Mark and Shirley - this recipe is sooooooo easy!!! You pretty much just melt it all together - and it's OH SO GOOD!!! Like I said, you can vary it however your tastes desire - that's what makes it so much fun!

I was reading along here, not paying attention to whose posts I was reading, when I said to myself...

[Linked Image] Hey! I don't remember posting in this thread"!
laugh laugh (I don't cook either, Mark... thought I was the only one!)

That looks AWESOME Lynne, & I'm going for it! I'm not going to put in currants or any of the other berry-type things in it, but I'll make 2 batches & put nuts in 1. (If I left the nuts out, there wouldn't be any left for anyone else after Dave & Lincoln got their mitts into it... the only way I could ever keep them from wiping out contents of the cookie jar when they were little, was to put nuts in everything!)

Where is that recipe, Deborah? [Linked Image]

Here is the fudge recipe.
The recipe is very old, the paper it's written on looks like from the 1950's.
The recipe was given to my friend, age 94, Edna Comstock. Many years ago.
See's Fudge
Makes 2 pounds.
Boil 3/4 can milk and 2 cups sugar.
Put in bowl 1 pkg chocolate chips
1/4 cup nut meat.
Melt 10 teas. marshmallow cream.
Pour this mixture over chips.
Add cooked sugar and mix well.
Add 1 teas. vanilla.
Pour in plate and let cool (overnight if possible).
This is exactly how the recipe is typed on old yellow paper.
Good luck !

No telling who gave the recipe to Edna, or when.
But I'm guessing, from the way the recipe is worded, and from the age of the paper it's typed on, possibly in the 1950's.

Bringing this back up again, since I made 5 more batches this past Saturday to give our hostesses at the 2 parties we attended. Each received 1 large dish of raspberry fudge with marshmallows and walnuts. Plus 1 small plain fudge with vanilla flavoring in case anyone was allergic to nuts, and 1 small orange flavored with walnuts.
