Hi ALL...
I have this awesomely wonderful-to-watch plant that I am starting to need to find out how to control. It is, as it turns out, quite pernicious (find starts growing far from the mother plant!) But I LOVE the drama of this plant.

Let's see if I remember how to post a photo..
[Linked Image]

This is March picture! It is dramatic for months before and after this...
It bleeds white, and profusely. I think it's sticky sap. (I try to avoid touching it!!)

I need to know if my containment (usually a HARD cut back in fall or late winter (I blew it this year, so I'm in for an adventure) is the best way to tend it. Just how hard CAN I cut it back? And what time of the year is best.??

AND: What IS it!? (Okay, next time I WILL save the tag!!!!)

THANKS SO MUCH for you help!

Some people can have a reaction to that sap...

Thanks Weezie...
I just searched http://www.noble.org/webapps/plantimagegallery/ForbsSearch.aspx
for an image and can't find anything. But when you said it, I realized that someone else told me the same... based on the white sap.

Maybe I can find something somewhere else. (I really am swearing to never throw tags out again! This is SIlly!) :p

I know how you feel..
When I started gardening my wee~one went behind me
and started pulling out the tags..
I found them in a patch of his own..
he'd only planted the tags..
I couldn't be mad,
but that's how I started surfin' the internet myself!!!

Did the picture I attached get lost because you moved/are moving the thread? Or did I attach it 'illegally' so that it got removed by some forum cops or something?

Weezie, how cute! I loved that little anecdote. It's almost poetic. I have noticed you use the word "wee" in a lot of your posts. Are you Scottish or Irish by any chance?

Back on topic, Good to know what you have there Terraflora. I didn't have a clue. This is such a great web site. Good luck with it.
