This is the first year I have not used weed blocker in my garden at all. I always use Preen to control sprouting weeds, but I definitely have more weeding to do than normal. the biggest problem is clover, expecially around my onions. I have been using one of those circular shaped hoes to weed but it doesn't do much good on the clover at the base of onions. Is there any way to use a clovercide in a vegetable garden or what? Any ideas?

Clovers are very shallow rooted plants so as long as your onions are not babies, they won`t harm them. Best way I know of is pull themwhen the ground is damp like after a light rain.

Shoot I had crap grass which is much more harmfull to onions then clovers are. Fortunatly the onions and I won the war against the weeds.
