Hi from a very new member, living in Madison, Wisconsin.

A year ago my wife bought some daffodil bulbs, but never got them into the ground. They stayed in our unheated garage all winter and then my wife put them in our freezer, where they remain. Does anyone know if it is worth our while planting them, or are they probably dead rather than dormant?

Thanks for any advice you can give.

Peter B

ps: It really was my wife who did it -- I'm not just covering up.

Yeah, right, okay....... lala laugh laugh

Anyway, take them out of the freezer thaw them and remove any flaky, brown debris that may be on them. Give them a good pinch/squeeze with your fingers. They should feel very firm, not soft or squishy. If they are firm go ahead and plant them and hope for the best. If they are soft or squishy you can throw them in the compost pile and start with new bulbs.

and when you lift them for whatever reason remember it's the refrigerator not the freezer you want to put them in. Good luck.
