weezie13 Compost Queen! Joined: Apr 2003 N.Y.	Yep, cut them down.. or I just leave them for spring clean up when I'm looking for brown for my compost bins.. The roots are where your next plant comes from, it'll send up new shoots from there and send a bit long runner root alot a path and then send up another plant from there also..... I love asters.. I have lot's of wild ones, all different colors.. sooooo pretty.. and the honey bees are loving them late fall..
