I decided to do some last minute clean-up outside since the weather has been so warm lately. Much to my surprise and dismay I found plants coming up...daffodils, crocus, day lilies (which will be fine I know) but I also found a peony coming up which I promptly covered with mulch. I guess I'll have to do a thorough check for more plants that may have been fooled by the warm weather.

I have buds on my shrubs - that CAN'T be good! And my Vinca has started to flower again. No sign of any tulips or daffodils here yet though.

Isn't it weird weather?
I can't remember a winter in California that was so cold as this one.
Usually we're having warm Santa Ana wind conditions, and even freakishly HOT days.
This new cold weather is making me feel kind of sick and achey. I really hate this strange cold.

Dang, Alan...you aren't too far from me!
I have a ton of leaves in my gardens...maybe I'll just leave them and not clean up!
...scared of what I might find growing!

It's been like summer here, too! grinnnn
...up in the low 70's most days this week.
Gonna change tonight though..... eek

yes, it sure has seemed more like spring (and even summer on some days) than fall with winter just around the corner!!

geez!! my grass needs to be cut again!!!

it's chilling down for a day or two and then it'll be warmer again...

VERY odd weather...i'm glad for it tho as, so far, i haven't had to deal with snow/ice with this stupid cast on my foot. thank god for that!! (the nice weather - not the cast!)

I have daffodils sprouting too. It sure is wierd. I dug up three of the daffs so they can bloom inside. I'd enjoy the cheery color inside this time of year. It's been warm but overcast so very grey. I wonder just how hot summer is going to be if it's like this now. I heard it was going to be a cold winter. The alminac definitely got that wrong so far.

My tulips coming up today - December 23!!!!!!!!
[Linked Image]

Sedum growing today too!
[Linked Image]

And Lithospermum growing and spreading like crazy!!!
At this time of year, it should be completely buried under the plowed snow from the driveway! This was the first summer it was planted, and it's growing like gangbusters now, in the middle of winter!!!

WEIRD!!! Just WEIRD!!!

Lynne, if your weather is anything like ours, I can understand why everything is ready to come out of the ground. Poor plants are sooo confused!

This weather is really something. I was shopping in a short sleeve t-shirt, switching on the a/c when we would get into the car to go to a different store...

72 degrees was our high today...

I've learned not to plant tulips here, though I love them...
