banana plants need warm temperatures, and lots of sunlight. They do well in constantly moist soils too. Check the leaves for spider mites too. Reciently, my mother lost her 8' tall one to spider mites o.O can you believe such a lil bug can kill a plant that size??

But ya, lotsa light ^.^

My mom has a banana plant that had leaves that were turning yellow and brown and she repotted it into a bigger pot and it's doing much better now.

Oh thank you so much both of you I have repotted the plant and will pray that it makes it.............. We had thought perhaps the Ph was too high or the nutrients in the soil where too high or even too low but are but we are not sure how to bring it down or fix anything.......... I checked the plant for mites those evil little bugs and there is no sign of them...... Thank goodness... Again thank you both........ TAS

my PH for mine was 6.5-7 course are grown inground also. They actively grow in temps over 50& like very bright light. My SIL has hers growing indoors and is useing a light.it still gets a new leaf, but is like every 3 weeks to a month.it gets cool temps at night as its in the poolroom.
Banana plants drink lots of water, but when they are ACTIVELY growing.was your soil real wet when transplanted? They store alot of water. They don't really need any right now.very little.
