Last fall during the seed exchange, I received a packet of seeds labeled zabrina. Can anyone tell me what kind of plant this is? How do I get the seeds to grow, they are the only ones I can not get to sprout.

If its meant to be spelled Z-E-B-R-I-N-A, the first A being an E then it is:

Wandering Jew-- trailing plant-fleshy stems-pointed oval leaves with silver and bright green stripes -small purple or pink flowers on certain species
Bright light- average room temp.- med.humidity.
All purpose potting soil-allowed to dry between watering to prevent root rot.
My info says propagate from stem cuttings so this may be something TOTALLY different but I couldn't find anything on it spelled with the A...

Here is a photo of one of my Zebrina's with a rose. The Zebrina is the large plant on the left. Per weezie13 is a cousin to Hollyhock in fact was sent to me labeled Zebra Hollyhock.

Mine just fall onto the dirt in the fall..
Lay there over winter and sprout in the spring.

What have you been doing sca period to sprout???

Let me know whatchya been doing to get them started??

I was given mine last October was about 3 inch tall at that time you can see how tall they are now the fence they are behind is 4 foot high they are about 6 foot tall right now so much for the 36 inch they are suposed to get. Here is a close up of one of the blooms
