The darker bird is a young, female Black Headed Grosbeak.. I'm fairly sure that the other is a female Evening Grosbeak.

nothing like a happy wet bird....you can almost see them smiling!
this inspires me to move my birdbath out from under the hydrangeas. the birds still use it in there, but i can't see them unless i am standing in the garden.

I so wish i could have a bird garden here, year round, but right about now, it would be considered a bird sk8ing rank :rolleyes: Plus there's no natural streems here, except for a teeny tiny one behind my barn that would never be seen...

When i get out of college i'm gonna get a house with a pretty yard that i can put lotsa gardens in! And all my tropical plants will live happily ever after
