I have some seedlings coming up. I'm really hopeful that they're what I planted, and not volunteers!
This one is where I planted the columbine seeds.

And this is where I planted Mexican petunias.

I know they're not the best pics...but do they sorta kinda look like may be they could be? wink

Thanks!

This site has pictures of seedlings for a lot of plants and may help you identify what you have there. It uses the scientific names though so ... I always have to look them up before I can find them lol.

Mary,
The top one doesn't look like Columbines seedlings to me..at least not any of the variety
I have....

Don't know what a Mexican Petunia seedling looks like, but I know G~mom had some growing...
Maybe she can help identify them for you???

I have only experience of UK planting with columbine , but the top pic doesn't really look like aquilegia, the secondary leaves would be more deeply lobed.

I think your search goes on.

laugh wink

Well, I've got more seedling growth - most of the stuff was that 'delightful' weed that comes up everywhere - the 'flea beetle snack weed' laugh I pulled those out, along with a few volunteer grasses...and have a few seedlings left. I'll get out tomorrow to play in the rain. Errrr, I mean to get more pics...I'm still hopeful they are what I hope they are (huh?) wink

**Sometimes, some seedlings are hard to tell by,
but if we get consecutive pictures in a row,
we'll be able to tell**

Sorry, I totally dropped the ball! Here are some pics...they are horrible mad I really need a new camera!

Geesh, these are really bad. Okay, this is what I think are supposed be the mexican petunias (alongside a june bug carcass - which I am proud to say I was able to scoot over with my finger LOL)

These are weeds that I took pictures of earlier... [Linked Image]

Too much caffeine, I guess wink

Anyway, pics#1&2 seedlings (much smaller than weeds) are also a darker green. 2 leaflets each. very close to the soil right now, rounded leaves, don't think they've got serrated edges.

Now for a the columbine, I hope wink

Of course while I was out I started snapping pics of other mysteries, which I'll now go put in the mystery forum wink

Thanks!
