I have what once was a beautiful oak leaf ivy, which now has spider mites. I first started with soapy water and when that didn't work, I went to pesticides(which i didn't want to do). Well that isn't working either. can someone please help???

Try a systemic. It is absorbed & kills anything that bites your plant. There are kinds that are absorbed through the roots. And, some that you spray on the leaves. The latter attacks the pests & is absorbed through the leaves.

I suggest you go to a garden center and read lables until you find what you need.
