It has been suggested I amend my flower bed soil with potash and something else. I can't remember what the something else might be, nor do I know how much I need of either.
Any suggestions?

Um it might help if the experts knew what the pH was in your soil. You can buy kits to test it pretty cheap I understand.

I bought a kit that tests for pH, Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium.

Same kit as found here.
