Next move?

OK - anybody going to pick a plot?

Hint - after you have changed the drawing on your paint brush program, save your file as a JPEG - not a BMP file.

Then load the JPEG or JPG up to your image server the same way you would a photograph.

So . . .

Carly - Mayor
Patty - Assistant Mayor
Weezie - Head Bartender

Maybe Bestofour might open a Herbal Tea Shoppe?

So Sheri, tell us about your place! It doesn't look like you've planted any Herbs yet, but I see that you have flowers in already... what are they & what zone are you in? Did you see on page 1, that each of our properties is a "microclimate"? Residents can be in whatever planting zone they choose. (Now THAT'S going to be fun, if 1 person has 3' of snow in their yard while their neighbor grows bananas!) [Linked Image]
And your Manor... WOW! How many stories is it? Are there swimming pools, botanical gardens & Aviaries inside there, or are you running an orphanage?!? BTW, your address is 1423 Carlyville Ave. & you're registered at the Post Office now. (Addresses are determined by resident's member number & the street where their property is located. Carlyville doesn't have a Mailman yet - hint hint - so residents have to go to the post office... or simply send PMs.)

We still seem to be missing a Head Bartender (cuz Weezie hasn't staked a claim yet)! Sheri jumped right in here, so maybe she wants the job! (Come on, Weezie... there are thirsty & lonely people waiting here!) thumbup

Either my original perspective of Carlyville was way off & you people who followed me grabbed up HUGE lots, or I'd better get busy & move my property line a little over to the West, so it doesn't look like I live in the slums! & here I thought I "went big" when I staked my claim!

I guess the Mayor is going to have to get her map makers busy making more pages, with the rate land is being scarfed up around here! lala

So far, so good, but we need MORE NEIGHBORS!

I don't drink alcohol so I don't know enough to be a bar tender. I'll serve up all the Pepsi you want.

Carly, you can put some goats on the back 40. I could use the help.

I had put in a pool and a tennis court but in all the moving around they and some of the address for the town hall got deleted. Oh well, it's getting winter - I'll get the pool going by the summer.

Well, I've really thought about this - like I am a lady of leisure with unlimited funds and have absolutely nothing to do - ha ha!

There are two ways we could handle this biz of the map expansion . . .

1) The map is just a map - it doesn't really need to change in size - individual lots can be done up as separate maps;

2) Or, like Patty says, we could make pages . . .

Once we have a few people living in the village (or at least owning property there), I can put the map on a web page - then I can make links on the map.

The thing to do now is work on drawing up our properties . . . you don't have to do that on the map itself.

I am going to do my drawings on my own forum at Wild City and link back here to Garden Helper. You could do the same.

(I don't think anybody could fault me for soliciting a little action at my own forums - I'm such a hard worker and outstanding member of the community)

What photo program are you on? I'll see what I can figure out for you.

Make sure that you're not saving your drawings in bmp format (jpegs take up less room, as you probably know).

Try again today and if you have no luck, send me your drawing and I'll put it up.

Its on the way to you. I was working in Illustrator 9 then in Photoshop. Had backsaved it from an .ai file to a .psd then to a .jpg. Looks good on the computer, any computer, but photobucket doesn't want to "show" the .jpg. Duh

You did just fine, Michelle - and I do love the spot you've chosen - nice desktop publishing work on the drawing too.
