wavey Welcome lawyerlyn

I love basil too.Usually when I see ants on my plants grinnnn it's because I have an aphid problem.
The ants go after the nectar that the aphids excret.

You can spray your plants with a strong stream of water to knock the aphids off.If you have a bad infestation of aphids, insecticidal spray could be used. Here is a link.

Hi, Duckie,

Thanks for your reply and for the link. Now I know what to do when I have aphids in my plant.

Happy New Year to you and your family.
