thanks for looking! so I need to figure out the chemical structure of bleach (NaOCl)
The balanced formula's here: 2NaOH+Cl2 --> NaCl+NaClO+H2O
The closest thing that I have right now is Cl-O-Na
Anyone have any clue?

What have you got to do, recreate a bleach molecule?

This is a little above me, but I'll give it a try...

I'll get back to you on that.. laugh thumbup

Kenny, try www.webqc.org DD used it just last month to help with her chemistry. They have online calculators to help verify and balance your results.

Thanks everyone, the equation up there is balanced, I just need a diagram for the compound...I don't know what hypochlorite is (as in how many chlorines and whatever else) here's an example of water O-H-O
Tamara, I bookmarked the site laugh smile

Kennyso, I knew the equation was already balanced. I thought you wanted to verify if your answer was right or not.

I haven't had chemistry in 16 years but I think hypochlorite is Cl[O-].[Na+] I could be wrong though. laugh it's been too long out of school for me.

water is H2O
or H-O-H in chemical bonding.

Sodium hypochlorite is NaClO
or Na-O-Cl in chemical bonding.
