You all know how I like making different and unusual things either knitting them or crocheting, right? Last night, I learned how to make a round, stuffed item by crocheting.

Anyone want to guess what it will be when it's finished?

Is it going to be a pet "ball"?

A "hot pot" spot?

Great guesses, Dianna - but I'm not telling...! laugh kissies

It is 3 dimensional, even though it doesn't look it in the picture...

I'd be interested in other guesses - anyone?

It looks 3 dimensional to me, Lynne ~ the photo is showing nicely.

I'm not going to make a guess, however, because you didn't give a size for the thing. The size of it could limit its potential uses...

Also, is it made of ordinary yarn?

If is is yarn and small enough, it could be for something like Catnip. Large enough, and weighted properly, it could be to a set of juggling balls.

You see?

I need more details.

you're right, Merme - though the size does not really matter in this instance, it is approx. 4 inches around in all directions. Not perfectly round though - a little flat from front to back.

Is this part of something else, bigger? Will it have other parts added or just decorations?

You could add triangular pieces around the circumference and make a big sun if yellow is important to the design.

Or it could also be the head or body of a bird viewed from the side.

Way too many possibilities/not enough information.

Great suggestions, Merme - they both make sense!

I am actually following a pattern
A very BAD pattern that was translated poorly, and even has directions for pieces that are not on this item, and also left out directions for one piece that is. Oh, well... I am learning quite a bit about crocheting as I muddle along, so it's been a good experience.

OK - DRUM ROLL ........ [Linked Image]
(it's the closest thing I had!)

May I present "Little Miss Rays of Sunshine"?

[Linked Image]

Only problem is... her rays came out a bit tooooo curled, and both Amy and Don were teasing me about her Dreadlocks!!! I don't mind - it's her personality! laugh Duh She's starting to grow on me, and is fun to play with!

[Linked Image]

Don't know if I'll ever make another one, but it was great fun learning all the "new to me" crochet stitches! thumbup

That's so cute!! Her personality comes across in the last picture as:

There was a little girl, who had a little curl
Right in the middle of her forehead.
When she was good she was very very good,
But when she was bad she was horrid!
laugh laugh

She looks sweet and cuddly but you can see the mischieveousness in her!! laugh laugh

Good one, Shirley!

And you know what's funny?
When I was a little girl - toddler age - my mom would make my hair into 2 pigtails and curl them into 1 ringlet each, and on my forehead she made 2 short little curls. She always recited that poem to me!!! However did you know? Duh thumbup

WOW - I guess it's true - what goes around, comes around!
Back to ringlets, am I? laugh

I'm going to have to see if I can find a picture of me from then - they took a whole bunch - I was dressed in a poodle skirt too I believe!
