I don't see my latest hobby listed so I will start a new topic; I brew beer! I have gotten pretty good but I would still consider myself just an advanced beginner because I have not made it to all-grain brewing yet; still using partial grain and malt extract. Anyone else out there who dabbles in barley malt?

Cool! How long have you been brewing? Do you brew 5 or 10gal batches? Do you brew extract, partial, or all grain?

I came across an article once talking about growing the different hopps vines for giveing beer the disticnic flavor.talked about which hopps for what flavor. Was a london article. It was not my topic,I just stumbled on it.I'd be happy with a hopps vine that grew long neck bottled bud light....they could even chill it for me. muggs

I've made wine from muscadines& whatever that grape was in Indpls my neighboor grew on my fence with his posion ivy.I've thought of doing blackberry cause well....the blackberrys are pentyful& I've currently got going some kumquat brandy. I've not braved up beer.I'd hate to make a brew and have it taste like corona... I'm a bud light person.I might slide to a budweiser, bush,or miller lite. And I'm likely NOT to trade a beer again after that awful corona slip up.....I got ripped off BIG TIME.

I have been brewing VERY OCCASIONALLY for 20 years, but starting last summer we really started brewing big time! My favorite is American Bock - mine tastes better than Michelob Amber Light. I have also perfected a Bud Lite clone. I have several testers coming over Friday to let me know if it is 'perfect', because I have been elected to brew 10 gals for a February Party. You see, I only drink 1 glass every evening, so we really need friends to help out! So far, they are happy to help. smile

Oops I should have previewed my message - I meant Michelob Amber Bock, not Amber Light. It is only 5:30 am here and I am still trying to wake up.
