Not only do we have a big freeze moving in by tomorrow morning, there's a very heavy wind warning.

As I speak here, parts of the Gardiner Expressway have been closed off due to ice falling from the CN Tower here in Toronto.

The wind is expected to reach 90 km per hour - and what's that in fahrenheit - well, you know how to use google - just put 'celsius to fahrenheit' in the wee window there and it will take you to any one of the sites that do the conversion.

Yes - that's what they said it would be. Toronto will probably be about 70 k an hour.

(I do wish we could go back to miles, feet, inches, etc.)

heavy winds here and light snow blowing, terrible mix, sliped a LOT as I was walking home a few minutes ago, nearly got run over (literally) at the traffic light, just goes to show how poor visibility was

Well, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but yes, it sure was windy.

We're gonna' be cold overnight, then minus 10 celsius in the morning. Then it starts getting better - if no other cold fronts move in.

I really like what that chart's doin' at the end of each local forecast - up, up, up . . .

Penny I hope that calms down a bit for you folks up north.

We had a bit of sunshine..
And then it's gone back to dark clouds,
and windy and it's snowin' just a bit now..

But in another county over, ther'es a travel advisory and roads are closed..
*husband kept getting blocked off on his way home, and he kept having to take other roads to finally get home..
Well, then to the doc's, he and his dad both had appointments and it was blowing when they left...

The weather has been just horrible today! Snow and very high winds, drifting snow. I couldn't understand for the life of me why the school bus's were running this morning. Sure enough at the end of the day bus's were cancelled! That left a lot of people scrambling to make arrangements to pick their kids up at school! There was a terrible accident around noon on Hwy 400 which stopped traffic in both directions. On the 6 pm news, they were still trying to get it cleared up and expected it to take another 5-6 hours before traffic would start moving.
In Dufferin county, ALL the roads were closed due to drifting snow!
Is winter EVER going to end?

Lower Hudson Valley is COLD and very windy today. The sun is nice but when you open the door it is shockingly cold. I heard that snow is coming. Gee, I guess we are paying for the lovely December weather. Good thing it is March and spring is not too far away. Stay warm everybody.

We're not too bad here in the west part of toronto today - very very cold, of course, but the winds aren't so bad today.

I think we're on the way out of this. They are declaring warmer temps for tomorrow, and the wiggly line on the chart they show at the end of the local forecasts is going up up up up!

I like that.

Minus 5 celsius tomorrow is the high - but there's no wind.

Saturday will be 7 above with rain and by the looks of the weather chart, it will rain all day.

We don't want it to get too warm too fast - the streets will be rivers.

But I'd like to see some melting goin' on.
