I have been watching the news about the fires. I wish there was something besides sit and watch and say a prayer! I am glad y'all are allright! I remember when we had fires in Jax. We had all sorts of fire bans. It is startling to see fields of burnt everything where there used to be pretty trees and shrubbery!

Arkansas is having it worse then us right now as is Colorado. Arklatx area supposed to get rain of course it is 200 miles from us but they need it too. Don't remember how many deaths we have had in Texas. Did hear about this person in my home town of Fort Sumner NM caught a mouse and threw it live into a pile of leaves he was burning mouse caught fire ran out and ran into the mans house burned it to the ground made CNN Headline news. They never say anything good that happens there but sure get the stupid stuff.

Well we had a little bit of rain tonight. Just enough to wet the ground. We need about 6 hours of a nice slow soaking rain.

Also a chance of snow tonight.

They gave us a slight chance of rain for last night and about a 60% chance today...that usually means we wont get any. But at about 11pm last night it started to thunder really loud...then it rain hard for about 10 minutes and stopped. It started again about 2am and has rain off & on since. I am so THANKFUL for this rain! I haven't had a chance to check the weather channel to see if Oklahoma and Texas are getting this as well...but I am praying they are. This is such a WELCOME relief.

And here I thought I was gonna have to ask Fernie to do a rain dance for us!

Today is the 23rd day of rain here (11 inches)
The extended forecast calls for another 14 days of rain which will break all previous records.
Lots of mud slides now and concerns that there may be flooding soon.

Welcome to Washington, the Everwet State! frown

I can't believe that Mr. Bill..23 days...
And here we have NOT had rain for so many months it is crazy! I was really surprised at our rain here because it was so unexpected. Saturday they were saying it would ba about 3 weeks before we had even a slight chance of rain and then this just happened. I am so surprised that we have anything that is still alive around here with the drought being so bad. But...you can actually HEAR the moisture soaking in to the ground it is so loud.

After upper 70's on Sunday, we had a freeze overnight and a cold, blustery day on Mon., then a dusting of snow early this morning. Two hours north they got a foot of snow in places...high tomorrow is supposed to be in the 60's, then upper 70's and back to high fire danger on Thurs. nutz
I've seen a lot of crazy weather here in OK, but this is just nutz. frown

Not a chance of rain but stock show starts around the 20th it always rains during the stock show. But then it all ways raind during the fair in September/October what happened last time not even a cloud. Vanessa glad your getting rain. It rained here all night...We got 2 inches of rain. The last measureable amount was Nov 27, So in my north central part of Arkansas we finally should be out of fire danger.

Duh We have had some really strange weather here. Very wet fall, one bit of snow that lasted on the ground for a week and now nada. It has been between 50-60 degrees here. Waaay to warm!! My tulips and daffadills are starting to show. I just keep raking leaves over them. Very strange weather-just kinda hope that it does snow here-maybe we will get slammed Jan-Feb.

Yesterday was another big fire day here. Several fires in our area, but in southern Oklahoma a fire burned 16,000 acres and is still burning today. This after parts of northern Oklahoma got 14 inches of snow on Tuesday!

Thank God we are getting rain now . Maybe we will be removed from the burn bans . No wildfires close to us , but I have lived in dread of careless people .
We have only had snow twice , and the biggest was less than an inch , and went off within a day .

Dave saw you fires on the local here outside of arsons setting apartment complexes on fire ours has been fairly calm. Wind is high here today last night had a North wind we got Souther oklahoma's grass fire smell down here everyone was calling it in. Bad when we smell grass smoke everyone gets worried. Said chance of rain here Sunday to Tuesday but not promising as you know it changes with every wind shift.Glad parts of Oklahoma and Arkansas are getting rain and snow.

Just saw that they had a tornado in Alabama today. This whole country is in deep trouble if this kind of weather keeps up. Global warming or not, they say our weather is changing for the long term.
