I wrote this after my mother passed away and posted it in the local newspaper on the one year anniversary of her death. I lost her October, 2000. Even though it has been 6 years now, this poem makes it seem like yesterday.........
OUR ANGEL
This has been the hardest time
that we have ever known
for one year ago today
God took an angel home.
She blessed us with her love
and held us by her wings
Yes, this special little angel
taught us many things.
A wonderful wife and mother
A companion and a friend
to those of us who knew her
her love will never end
We miss her more and more
with every passing day
Our hearts, they weep with sorrow
for our angel who's gone away
