Grand Prairie Texas now has parts of it burning . Had to evacuate the Naval Air Station. Dealers Auction where I use to work is on fire that is on Main st. a lot of car lots on fire. Have freinds that have no phone Police wont let me in to see if they are ok or to get them out. Our best friends he is a bad heart patient his wife and daughter both disabled in wheel chairs but they said they were safe. Smoke smell is very strong now been smelling it well over two hours this is about 5 miles south of me.

That fire is knocked down said on news this morning it was arson. Hope the throw the book at these fools I just can't believe people will set fires as dry as everything is. I now carry a camera everywhere I go if I see someone even looks like he is starting a fire I will get a photograph while I call the police. That way they can prove or disprove in court they were setting fires.

Incredible, Jimmy. Car lots on fire?
They're saying today's fire risk will be less than yesterday. We lucked out yesterday with few fires in the state and none got too out of control. Today's risk level is EXTREME, down form yesterday's CRITICAL. Some consolation, huh? High will be 75, wind 25 mph. Since we dodged the bullet yesterday, I have a feeling we're gonna get it today. frown

Our weather is same as yours for today but our fire alerts have gone up. The Auto Auction I was drving for was supposed to have cars burning at it. I will go by after work today and see it is just across the tracks from Jefferson St. where the fires were shown on ABC local station last night. If that is true Cox Enterprize will be in a world of hurt replacing those cars value to the owners. A lot of dealers store their cars there so as no to have over crowded lots. I wish they could catch those arsons. Fort Worth Stock show will start around the 20th normally rains that two weeks here's hoping. thumbup laugh

Well, I was wrong about yesterday. Never saw anything about how extensive the fires were yesterday, not on this morning's news, either, but I just heard on the radio that there were 20 fires statewide, and one out west that burned over 1,000 acres. You know things are bad when none of this was newsworthy!

Seems we get more Oklahoma news then you do nutz Last night they showed the Edmond fire on NBC and ABC both here. We do have a lot of news people here that ether were raised or went to college in Oklahoma may be the reason we get so much of your news here.

Jimmy, or anyone else, have you heard any news about fires in Oklahoma today? As usual, our local stations aren't breaking in with anything, and all I can find on CNN, FOX, etc. is warnings.
I guess as long as I don't see smoke, we're not in immediate danger.

Dave I am at work can't get news stations here as radio wont work in here and no TV allowed. Sorry I have been wondering myself. Just pulled up K4 in OKC on my cell phone has yesterdays fire news on it. Go figure guess today is not important to them.

Thanks Jimmy! I guess it's more important to the folks on local news to get the weekend off than to keep up with a state of emergency...I've never figured out why we don't get noon news on the weekend? Duh Does the world stop turning?

NBC just had almost a minute on the Nightly news got home too late for local. I know I will not trust another thing our local ABC station puts out. After work I went by last nights fire in GrandPrairie burned almost 50 acres looked more like a controlled fire to me. An old wooden building was not burned although the grass grew right up next to it. Th Auction they said had cars burning did not. Now tell me why the polcie blcoked off the eastern third of town for an almost 50 acre square makes for news I guess but doen't make a lick of sense to me. But do know will not believe anything this station says again.
