Just curious... would a little bit of sand down on top of the plate first and then squish in all the candles and seashells, would add more of a oceany feel... and you've got something to throw on the candles and smoother it, if someone knocked it over... They've got some pretty colors for sand now adays, in those candle making kits I've seen..

OP mich168 Member Joined: Jul 2003 Southern California, USA	I thought of using sand but decided against it as I am going to have the guests take home the candle garden centerpieces and sand would really be a problm for them to deal with. As it is, I am going to provide bags for the whole thing. Also, the color are spring colors, but mostly blues and whites. Both my maid-of-honor and I are carrying orchids.
