If you want in on the party gift exchange please p.m. me with your addy. And I'll drop you in the hat. I'll pull out the addresses on Sunday night and PM everyone who they are to send something too. This is going to be so great. And I have some wonderful seeds for this.

Will you have the peoples real name & addy? Or is it not a suprise who they're getting from & we ask them? Is there a $ amount so some dont feel they've given too much or too little? Is it seeds or plants or garden decor? Am I asking too many questions? Have you done this here before? And I missed it? What's for lunch? Is Skeeter magnet playing? Will Tx ever get rain and will the east ever dry up? Is there a sign up by... date and when does play start?

I was wondering a few of those questions myself.

Does every player get one person to send to and therefore get 1 gift back? Or can someone pick ie:3 people and get 3 back?

Ok I'm going to wing this. I think this is the only time this has been done but I haven't been here from the beginning so I'm not sure.

Well we can definitely address them to their screen names but the addy has to be accurate. If a person doesn't feel comfortable giving out their address of course they don't have to. This is purely for fun.

As far as a price range. This is a sharing of joy with people we've come to care about. A card, a packet of seeds, a painted gourd, or whatever a person wants to give is appropriate. But nothing should be expensive. This is about the feelings not the dollars. I know for me something that will last so I can put it in my scrape book will be really appreciated. I already have Bills columbine seed packet in there. It is really cool and means a lot.

I hope skeeter will see it and play too. I would love to have them in the mix.

I think a one for one ratio is best. Like I say this is just to spread the joy around. Although there is no reason you can't exchange gifts with your friends on the forum anytime you want to. I just got a present today that had me in happy tears and I'm clouding up again just thinking about it. I now have Wild Willies and they are wonderfu.

I'm relatively new here so I dont know alot about many people. So if I played and say I got
Loz (just picked you cause I know youre playing) I dont know what her favorite flowers plants etc are, does she love or not like garden knick knacks, is she allergic to chocolate.... should the players put a short paragraph here about themselves and what they like? I'd hate to send you a sun loving plant if all you have is shade. Or a yellow flower if you only love the red & purple ones.

About me...
We are planning on moving in the spring, so I'm not sure if plants are a good idea for me. I really like knick knacks for the garden. I'm allergic to citris fruits....but thats it.

Well I always figure if I can't use the seeds I can use them in a trade lol. I am looking for zone 7, sunny location, drought tolerant seeds of just about any kind. Not garden knick knacks because I'm afraid someone would walk off with them. I also love the little seed packet templates. I only have a black and white printer so I can print any myself. Wow that's some santa's list isn't it lol.

Still dont know if we'll know who is sending to us? If you want to know after the drawing pm me and I'll tell you. The only thing I know for absolutely for sure about that part is that whoever gets hisgal2 is going to be really lucky cause she finds the best bargains.

I would say a week to shop for the gift and then another week for shipping unless it is overseas then more time may be neccessary for shipping.
Me I'll probably have my gift out the door the next day after I draw the names.

I think we should not tell who we are sending to so that as each of us gets our gift, we can write about it and thank our person right here in this topic. Then we all get to share the joy that each of us is having.

Is there a limit with money???? I have a hard time sticking to limits.

TK said no specific dollar amount (somewhere) before. Just remember if you send someone a Mercedes someone else may only send you a keyring.
I like to be as generous as i can, but dont go overboard either.

I love the idea of putting your thank you posts here. I would love hearing about the gifts and fun of unwrapping the package. The whole thing just makes the party that much better.

Tammy told me to post my likes/dislikes here. (I got into the exchange after she told me about it). This sounds like fun.....sort of Christmas in July.

I live in zone 6a, love victorian and faerie garden "art" (junk? ) and birdhouses, have a big shade/semi-shade garden I am redoing but I can't grow a fern to save my life!!

Love this idea..but If it is a surpise? I guess we need to read who wants seeds or not etc...
I am easy to please, a card or anything to remind me of the sender and group:-)

I gave a box of rocks to one person in a game. She has baskets of rocks from all over, even England. So as a gift in a game, I sent her rocks. The postman was suprised when he jokingly asked "Whats in this (heavy) box, Rocks?" and I said yes. She LOOOOVED them BTW.

I like elephants , giraffe's any thing safari I'm tring to establish a safari theme in the corner of my yard with the elephant ears ,,or seeds, or gnomes,,or reciepe cards or . or.. or.. oh what the heck I'm not picky!!

I have house plants, but very few outside plants.
I like "things" to set in my house plants.
Fun things to help me know when to water them. I need all the help I can get.

I didn't mention what I liked and what I didn't. I love daisies and sunflowers and anything that has to do with animals. I would never say what not to send because I will make use of absolutely anything..as any gift would be extremely special to me!!

I am so sorry Nor. The drawing is over. I don't have anyway to add anyone. But there are other things that we do from time to time and I'll try to be better at spreading the word. The time before this we did a treasure hunt for recipes. And I may well be sponsoring another one of those. The church is having an international dinner here not in the too distant future and I may be looking for recipes again lol.

Well, let me tell you about my ordeal with getting the name that I am buying for! We had a nasty storm run through our area last night at 7:30 and it knocked out our internet until JUST NOW!!!! I was sooo mad! Comcast got a few calls from me because I just couldn't wait anymore....I knew of a sale going on TODAY that I wanted to go to just for this. So, I ended up calling my mom and having HER get the name for me! Only thing was that I couldn't get onto this thread to look at likes and such. I think I did ok though. I just bought stuff that I would want! Box will get mailed on Thursday.

How many items is everyone sending??? I see a couple of people are sending out boxes.

i'm sending a small box, with odds and ends of stuff i'm picking up. i'm planning on spending somewhere between $5-$15, including postage. the reason for the range is that i'll pick up stuff until i fill the box, then off it goes. i got one of those flat rate postage boxes to use.

Me too, i have picked a box and i am filling it with odds and ends and hopefully they will like it...its so exciting and not being able to say who i got....its just like christmas!!

I think I sent 7 things, but remember I am the ultimate bargain shopper.
