Is the demon
I must battle
Everday;
I think
I've slain
The dragon,
But it still
Won't go away;
It's with me
Upon waking,
It slips
Into my sleep,
I try
My best
To hide it,
But it won't
Stay buried deep;
Happiness
Is fleeting,
I chase it
In my dreams;
Most days
I feel
I'm lucky
If I
Hold back all
The screams;
Living's not
An easy task,
I know
This world
Is marred,
But someone
Please explain
To me,
How living
Got so hard;
I do not
Ask for pity--
That's not
What I demand,

That somehow,

To understand.
