Well, it only took me 18 months...but it's finished! lol I hope the picture isn't too big.

This is number 2, actually. Number 1 was donated to the family reunion auction 18 months ago, where it got alot of attention. I started this one shortly after that, but put it away until last week because it wasn't as good as the first one...now ain't that silly?

I think if you google 'lafferty castle' you can find all sorts of info about it...or at least, you used to be able to. But it was built in the 1500's by a man named O'Flaherty, which has been changed over the years to Lafferty and variations such as that, many times at Ellis Island.

If you want to see a copy of the original 1920's photograph that I used as reference...

Thank you. If I'm not mistaken (and that NEVER happens...) it has been rebuilt, but only the tower and the wall exist, due to erosion of a cliff on the side by the dining hall, which is the roofless extension on the left side of the drawing. I think it's absolutely cool, and one of these years, I'm going to go see it.

Thanks. I don't know if you can see them, but there are two 'boo-boos' on it. One, in the lower left hand corner, is what happens when you set a drawing on the floor for a moment, and the cat uses it as a launching board to jump a mouse (which she caught, by the way lol)

...The other one...well, I'll just leave that one alone. wink
