OP ChristinaC Member Joined: Jan 2005 Ontario, Canada	Okay...I messed up! I guess last time I used my tomato mill, I failed to give it a proper cleaning. I picked up a bunch of tomatoes from the discount veggie rack at the grocery store, stewed them up and put them through my mill to make a sauce. Well...as I was turning the handle, the sauce was comin' out dirty...and the smell..it was nasty!! Apparently, mold had built up within the screen... I have yet to figure out how to take it apart, when I do...what does everyone suggest to use to clean it? Is there still hope? Would anyone trust it again? Thanks! Christina

afgreyparrot Official Problem Child Joined: Mar 2004	If you clean the parts with a detergent, preferably one that says it "kills mold and mildew" it will be fine. You can use baking soda to mix with the detergent if you need a little abrasiveness to clean it.

It seems to be all in one piece...I can't figure out how to take it apart to give it a proper cleaning. I had to order it through the mail...I couldn't find one anywhere here in Sarnia where I live. As I'm typing this...my boyfriend just figured out how to take it apart...I'm thinkin' just boilin' water????
