how often should I change it? It is store bought and the real nectar not home made. How do you make the home maid and how often should you change it out if it is homemade?

Hummingbird nectar should be changed at least weekly. Every 3-5 days in hot weather.
Home made is VERY simple: 2 cups boiling water, add 1/2 cup white table sugar. Do not add food coloring. (Do NOT add honey - kills h'birds). Stir to dissolve, cool. Store unused portion in refrigerator up to 2 weeks.

Remember that spoiled or moldy nectar can kill h'birds.

ENJOY!
