To the point

I love trees, I garden for food, I have little use for flowers, I'm a man and I'm 42.

The major future additions (as currently planned) are garlic, asparagus and a water feature.

Rambling

Once I get a water feature it will beg for a G gauge railroad. Anyone here with a garden railroad?

Hi & Welcome Near,

Glad you found the forum. I can never get straight to the point unless I'm barefooted.

That sounds like an adorable idea, a garden railroad.

Re: Food crops. Don't some of those benefit from being companion planted with flowers?

I love garlic and have some wild garlic comming from one of our members. I can't wait to plant it. I use it in everything lol.

There are some wonderful pictures of different water features that members have in their gardens. Down in the "Wild Willy Section" is a really nice one that is right beside some trees. And Afgrey has some pictures of hers posted down in garden chat. I forgot the name of the string but as you look through I'm sure you will find it.

Have a wonderful day and enjoy the forum.

I found the forum last year but I was in study mode. Not a shot, a confession that I needed to find the answers on my own.

Yes, flowers can aid veggies but I use lemon scented dish soap in most situations and it works fine.

If you love garlic, I have the recipe. Gotta go but I will post it in a day or two.

NearWater, an official 'welcome' to the forum! And, I'd LOVE to see pictures of your G RR when you get it set up. I love that idea!
