I just bought a Norfolk Island pine at an after-Christmas sale and brought it to my desk at work. It will never see direct sunlight at my desk. Was this a good idea? If not, I can take it home and bring in another plant. Any other suggestions for a good desk plant where all the light is flourescent?

Hi Wes,

Norfolk pines definitely struggle without some indirect natural light. If you are in a windowless office, I suggest that you take your Norfolk pine home and place it in front of an east or north window.

For your desk, I recommend a Chinese evergreen (Aglaonema), a pothos, or a peace lily. They all do very well under fluorescent light alone.
