Hi Kathy wavey

I'm 48 years young and have been married almost 31 years. We have two boys. One is 30 and lives on the west coast with his wife and two kids and the other lives on the east coast. He's 28. They both did a stint in the Marine Corps. I have six siamese cats and just recently inherited an 19 month old black lab... Jasmine. We are learning to live by her rules laugh We own a Goldwing motorcyle and love to travel on it. There's nothing like the mountains on a bike!!

I love working outdoors and just recently started doing some gardening for an elderly woman who thought her days of enjoying flowers were over. It's been a heartwarming experience for me! I also help moderate a surgical site for woman and my heart is closest to those woman who can no longer have children, so it's nice to meet you and see that you opened your heart and adopted a child.

hugs, auntnene

ok.... next??

Hi there! wavey

My name is Jenn and I'm 25. I'm married to Stephen (26). We have 3 cats: Coho, Thumbs, and Snot and 2 gerbils (which I keep at school) named Cheerio and Peanut. We live in Pennsylvania about an hour northwest of Philly. I'm a teacher at a daycare and teach the Pre-toddler class (1 year olds). I LOVE my job! We own a single home (not attached to any others. semi's are common around here). We have a good sized backyard with a garage in the back. I inherited the gardens from the house's previous owner and found this site while trying to find information on how to take care of the plants. Although I haven't really been in the garden much this spring because of a car accident that I was in back in March. I currently have a hole in my leg (did you get the picture Jiffy?) that I'm waiting to get healed up. I guess that's about it for me. smile Glad you found the site. We have the best group of people here. They are the most caring people you'll ever find! luv

Jiffy, I just *knew* you were stealing my idea! wink laugh (Actually, at first I thought my old post got a bump, but then I saw this very handsome young man, and said, umm... nope, them's not my girls..) laugh

Ok, so I'm Meg, or Megan. I've been married to my high school sweetheart for ummm.. 16 years this June 17th. We have 2 daughters, ages 10 & nearly 8, and 3.5 cats. (One is a part timer that belongs to the neighbors, but prefers to hang out here, and steal the other cat's food..lol.)

I'm 5'3" on a good day, mostly brown hair, brown eyes, undertall, basically a stay at home mom. I work for a friend who sells on ebay, been doing that for almost 3 years. (I'm actually getting a little tired of it, but the pay is ok, and the hours are flexible to me & the girls needs.)

I like this place, a lot. Been here almost a year now, and they still let me talk, and post pictures, even tho I don't have much to contribute. I'm still learning this gardening thing, but I love it. I got hooked as soon as I had stuff actually live.

That's about it.. and this is me.

Anne McCaffrey said, "My hair is grey, my eyes are green all else changes without notice." or something to that effect.

That's very true for me as well. I am single and staying that way!!! PTSD and relationships are a very poor combination and after years of trying to put them together I am through. No fault of the guys I just get antsy after a few years and have to GET OUT at any cost.

I'm on disability for a couple of different problems one physical that limits what I can do. So I garden in 15 minute increments and space even very short trips away from home about 3 to 5 days apart so I have time to recover.

I am a beginner gardener and love learning all the information people are so willing to share on this site. My "weed patch" is an 8' x 75' strip of government land behind the apartment/commerical building I live in.

I love to do PROJECTS all kinds of projects, any kind of project. But it has to be big enough for me to see. My eyes aren't what they used to be.

Hope you get as much enjoyment out of the forum as I do & WELCOME.

Hmmm.... so? everyone here is skinny? laugh As I was reading your replies I was remembering the good old days when being young, thin and full of energy was the norm. My middle age has added a few extra pounds, frosted hair to blend in the gray and knees that don't want to come up when I get down

I'm not complaining. Age brings wisdom and a house full of antiques thumbup

No, auntnene, not everyone here is skinny. Some of the women are on weight-loss plans as part of their New Year resolves. I myself am on a diet to lose 15 pounds by doctor's orders, otherwise, I'd be happy to stay this chubby.

I'm still waiting for afgrey's help to define myself with a rhyme....'coz she comes up with the best ones!

Wow!! I love to read the posts everyone puts on this site! Its truly the best-- HANDS DOWN... Some of you seem as if you live next door to each other your posts are so friendly and jovial. It really brings people in and makes them want to take part. I have to be careful or I will spend a WHOLE DAY on here and the next thing I know I haven't accomplished anything... grinnnn ) I also have one more blessing I call my grandaughter ElysaBeth(1 year old 6/27/05) I live on the outskirts of town with a huge yard --front and back-- love to garden all summer and cook & bake all winter...
Besides that my biggest hobby is my children ( proud mom or couldn't you tell) I'm 5'3" tall, reddish brown hair, eyes go from green to gold-brown depending on the time of year-- We won't even start with the weight-- let's just suffice to say I made a healthwise committment to my kids because they want me to be around for a long time to come.(Heart trouble, stroke, & diabetes run through my family history :p ) O.K. enough of that...

wink Well--Nooo-- buuuuuttt-- when the 3yr old is still in jammies at lunch time and my husband has to eat a peanutbutter sandwich for lunch I feel kinda guilty... lala but I get over it real quick sine he happens to like pb&j and the 3yr old usually sleeps in t-shirts anyway laugh ...
This site is really great. Gotta go check on supper right now though-- having BLT'S w/cheese. My husband( his name is Chip) has worked 2 &a half shifts straight and he's about to crash. Figure I ned to feed him first though since he's got to be back at 8 a.m. I'll check back in later...
By the way does anybody have any more info on my rose problem???? I really would like to save it if possible.... Thanx

Isn't it funny how you "picture" someone in your mind from what they write.....

I haven't even come close yet! It is always such a surprise to see someone's picture after having a visual image in your mind. But, always good to have a face to put to a name! I enjoy seeing pictures of my gardening buddies!

afgrey may not remember this, but she used to have a photo of me taken Christmas Eve 2003. It isn't a good photo because it is a bit too dark and the person who emailed it to me didn't know how to size the thing so you can view the entire photo at once, but there it does exist someplace in cyberspace.

I wish I knew if it is possible to scan an existing photo to get it in a computer and then send or post it? I have some tremendously GOOD photos of Maxi from a younger age...my all-time favorites are from a special photo shoot at a studio in which the photographer dressed him as an angel when he was 2 years old. Those are finished in sepia and he used a special sort of lens that made all the edges soft. They are exquisite and I'd love for you guys to see them.

Everybody needs an on'ry angel in their lives, and Maxi is mine!

Do you have a scanner and a photo editing program? If you do, you can scan any paper photo and edit it and pretty much post them anywhere you like. I have lots of snapshots that I have save on my computer and also to cd to preserve them "just incase"; you never know... It sounds a lot harder than it really is...

4Ruddy a lot depends on your camera. I have two programs I use one is photoflex pro an $8.00 program I bought about 10 years ago it is a great tool. The other program is Microsoft picture it where you can scan from your camera or get out of another program. I have a Kodak I put my camera on connect. Plug in your line going to your computer. Plug in ac adapter if you have one I highly reccomend this because it saves on batteries big time. on the Microsoft click get photos from camera if you have camera software click use camera software if not click get photo's now it has several things on this program to edit your photos and will also save them as web ready or E-mail or post to web from the program.
Good Luck
