[Linked Image] Tomorrow is Peanut's (Taylor Isaac) 2nd birthday....I'm sappy!(again)

For those of you who don't know...We adopted Peanut at birth.
We found out that my husband's daughter (who lived with her mother)was pregnant at 14 shk
Our original plan was to try to keep them together..allow her to finish school..etc..but, she wants no part of it. She is continually in a LOT of trouble (but that's a whole different story)
So, to make a long story short...we don't see her at all and we are solo on the raising the baby thing. YES, we are MUCH to old to be doing this...but, what a joy he is. He had to have 2 major surgeries at 6 weeks old, he shouldn't be alive. He & I lived at Children's hospital for about 3 weeks. He still has some minor complications from the surgeries but nothing compared to what it should be. We are blessed, tired, but blessed. He is one of the babies that carry the name of my son that was killed in the auto accident (Dayne Isaac) He is quite the corker and I'm not sure what we did for entertainment before he arrived! We will celebrate all day tomorrow.....the joy of life!

What a beautiful blessing, Vanessa! You might be tired, but that is a pretty good trade-off to see such a happy smile on his face, isn't it?

Give him a birthday hug from me, will you?

Vanessa,
I was sitting here holding my granddaughter about the time I read your post and I have to say that it made me appreciate my two little ones all the more. Her birthday is the 27th of this month so I know you are looking forward to tomorrow. I am extra blessed that she and Ally are only two years apart. I am looking forward to the two of them growing up together... And I know that Peanut is especially blessed to have you in his life.

You know--
I never imagined have a daughter and a grandaughter so close together in age though!!! But it is fun-- it gives me and my oldest daughter (baby's mother) something else to share. It's like we're friends and sisters more than mother and daughter!!!

Vanessa...
The Peanut is so blessed to have you for a mom!

By the time my birthday surprise gets to him, it will REALLY be a surprise...because he will have long forgotten about his birthday when it finally arrives!

Rach stopped at the post office today and got me box for it, but it was too small. But, it'll get there sooner or later.
(My money is on LATER!) laugh

Tell him I said Happy Birthday!

Aunt Cindy Albert...Peanut LOVED the bug & lizzard! Even if I hugged him for all of you...It wouldn't be enough! Isn't it amazing how you can love some one so much and want to pinch his little terrible two ears off the next minute!!!! grinnnn

Okay...I just HAD to do more!!! This was the day Peanut was born and he was HANDED to us!
The other 2 are of his birhtday party last year...I built him a truck cake! They aren't good pics of the cake but the license plate on the back said "P-NUT" and the bed was filled with mini cupcakes that had party favors on them. I am doing his room in dump trucks, construction trucks etc...so we used that theme for his party last year. Okay, I'll quit! grinnnn

Hhmmm...I don't know about it being a "talent" as much as just my way of expressing "art" and something I love to do. I guess this year I could do the armadillo with the tire track through the middle! (road kill!) I had to do a ton of those cakes when that movie (oh crap I can't remember the name of the movie)came out. Sometime I will post some pics of my cakes (I have 20 yrs worth) the biggest one I did fed 500 people...we forgot to measure the door and couldn't get it out...it was a nightmare! It had a fountain in the middle of the cake and when we FINALLY got it out the door...almost couldn't get it in the van...I get myself in a lot of twouble!!! I kinda hate to post pics of my cakes because Cindy's mom does them BEAUTIFULLY....makes me look like an amature! I just have fun!

That's so cool!!! I 've been decorating cakes since my oldest had her first birthday. A LOT of boo-boos along the way but its fun. I've had people ask me if I'd do them for a living but then that would take all the fun out of it for me so I just say no. I've collected a few character cake pans along the way... This year Ally is trying to decide between CareBears & Blues Clues. Last year it was Dora...Her big brother(he's 16) decorated the biggest part of that one cause I burnt my hand pretty bad earlier that day so I had to teach him how to do it real quick like. I think he had a ball doing it...
