I was plucking a couple of weeds.. only a few minutes, cuz it was soooo nasty outside! While I was out there tho, I saw a few of these interesting looking caterpillars, all around where my pansies are/ have been.

I looked up some photos of caterpillars, and I think it looks like a Variegated Fritillary , which would turn into this guy .
