he started his culinary arts program. i am so excited that i can't stand myself! he was so excited that he got there 45 min early! it was funny (sort of) because he called me 4 times in less than 3 hours...

"mom, i hit rush hour traffice at applebee's"
"mom, i'm here, but the lights are off and the door is locked"
"mom, lights are still off, door is still locked"
"mom, did i file taxes last year?"

he is too cute sometimes, and i am glad i can smile now about the phone calls... at 6:30 when they started, i wasn't smiling, i was grimacing...

the short of it is that it is an 18 week program. the first 3 weeks are general life skilss, budget and time management, study skills, etc. then the next 15 weeks are devoted to culinary arts, from kitchen management and food prep, to restaurant skills, serving, etc. it is a very good program, in high demand in this area. so, here he goes!

I am so happy for you, Jiffy! It would be nice to have someone around to cook, besides me! At least Jim helps with supper dishes. grinnnn

Have you ever watched Hell's Kitchen? It is a great show for chefs.

Hey that's great!! You know after a few years of working he could get up to restaurant manager...Allison did that, and now she's the GM of Perkins.....Unless he wouldn't want to do that...maybe he just strictly enjoys the food preparation....

THat is wonderful. I am so envious of you. He calls you to include you in all the little details of his life. I hope my son does the same. He is the love of my life. Both of them are actually. But as I am sure with all mothers I fear loseing him the most. My mother in law likes to say to me " A daughter is a daughter for life a son is a son till he takes him a wife. " I hate it when she says that. eek

actually, he is a really good cook. and he really enjoyed his first day. although, he was disappointed that it was mostly just paperwork and getting settled into the class. the good news it that he likes his classmates.
