Could someone please tell how often I'm supposed to water my African Violet, and is it supposed to always have flowers, and how come it stopped flowering, Thanks a heap,

There is no one secret to getting these plants to bloom. They need to be in small pots, lots of bright indirect light (a north windowsill, for example), warm temps above 70 degrees, regular watering, and occasional fertilizer.

They bloom best in the warmer months and less frequently in the colder months when the daylight hours are short. They can bloom at any time, but usually rest at various times, as well.

They do best in a soilless, peat-base potting mix. Water thoroughly whenever the surface of the soil is dry. Avoid getting cold water on the leaves.

Use an African violet or blooming type of fertilizer at half-strength from April through August.
