Ok, ok, now I KNOW we've often kidded around about a myriad of fun and zany ways we could all get together. Remember afgrey and I came up with the plan of riding her tractor, adding a big trailer and ALL of us heading to G-mom's to sit in her gazebo? We thought about doggie roasts and earning money mowing along the way, if I recall.

There've been some other good plans, too, I think.

But now really, everyone...I don't think a reunion would ever really work for us.

Just picture this:

We'd all be sitting around the table either talking a mile a minute and absentmindedly reaching for a mouse to click "Add Reply"

OR

We'd all be sitting there in abject silence 'coz there was nary a keyboard to be had!

laugh laugh laugh laugh

Well, I know I'd be trying to discretely look at Afgrey and Weezie's hands to get a glimpse of the kind of knuckle triceps it takes to type over 10,000 posts! "And what kind of mighty pinky is that to have hit 'enter' so many times?" is what I'd be thinking.

What about the rest of you? Any thoughts on how peculiar a real face-to-face party might be?

If we all sat on the same picnic table, it would collapse and dump us all on the ground. Just picture that now!

Well, there is NO WAY frown I could ever do this, unless I could get graemlins to pop out of the top of my head as I was talking. laugh Then, I'd lose track of the maximum 8 count :p because I wouldn't have that "Preview Post" button to fall back on.

Ohmygosh you guys had me cracking UP with this!

I didn't even remember about graemlins and you've already thought about graemlin posters and flash cards!

I'd be really lost without my spell check as I wouldn't wanna say something if I was spelling it wrong in my head.

But I'd truly like to see G-mom and that whip...

and duckie with her very dry sense of humor slaying all and sundry... (how can such a wet woman duckie have such a dry humor? is what I'd like to know)

Oh I'm easy enough to please. What is there to ever complain about good food well prepared? Even if it is "different" or something untried before?

AND, I eat anything at any time of day, so I'm not fussy.

People complain about eating with me, though, coz I eat very small amounts and I eat very slowly coz I'm too interested in socializing...

But I guarantee if you put on a feast, I would try to have at least one bite of everything you made.

Just load them tables up!

Ogunquit is really close to where I live, Phoenix. Just about a 40 minute drive straight up the highway. Ya can't miss us.

and...I've got a tiny, tiny grill with a dome top just aching for somebody to fire it up....

In the off season, when the rates go down all over the state, we love it when people come up, have dinner, and then sit around outside while we just keep adding wood to the fire and sweaters on our shoulders and listen to the night unfold, particularly if there is a breeze blowing in from the sea...

So if I have my small grill, and you have a similar one, that would be Grills #1 and #2 for the wild reunion to go with all those picnic tables we are collecting. Now...where to drum up some more?

And I just solved the issue of not being able to communicate without our 'puters in front of us.

Afgrey could paint table cloths to look like a computer at each place mat setting. So we'd all still have that technological feel to the converstaion!

Howz that?

You know families move all over the world and get together every once in a while for family reunions. I just don't see why we cannot seriously plan one! Given enough time, we could accomplish anything. Of course it would have to be in the fall when our gardens don't need as much daily work.

Oh G-mom, I was HOPING you'd volunteer to cook also, using that Splendid High-Tech Top O' The Line Grill That Probably Even Rocks Babies To Sleep While Washing Dishes! And what dya mean, it would be Grill #3 and #4? I'm thinking it is probably more like Grill #3 through #10.

Hot diggity!!!

And Dianna, the entertainment value of having our very own KJ on the scene would be a gift beyond words.

I for one would like to hear G-mom & Afgrey sing that theme song, among other things.

I'm guessing many of us here have good voices although a few have claimed not to have one. But we could get 'em going just fine.

Meg, not knowing HOW to sing is very different than not being ABLE to sing!

In all my years of teaching music, I only met one person who truly could NOT sing. He spoke. I could not get him past speaking into singing. He'd learn the words and the rhythm but could only SAY them and not SING them, no matter what.

He really COULDN'T hear the differences in pitch...it all sounded monotone to him and so that is what he repeated.

That's true "tone deafness".

Fortunately, the majority of people can hear a simple tune and recognize it again later. If you can do that, you can sing.

Fernie ~ did you see my sister Nancy/Blooming's suggestion of Dianna providing the clicking sounds for us?

But I certainly could teach everyone how to play spoons, too. Maxi's classmates always love it when I bring enough spoons for everyone to class on his birthday. I sing a silly song I wrote for the class so everybody can join in making a great racket with the spoons and singing along on the refrain before we dive into the cake and ice cream.

I for one would like to hear G-mom & Afgrey sing that theme song, among other things.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The "among other things" would be a LOT more entertaining, I assure you!

Here's one we could sing special for the event!Sung to the tune..."Down by the Lazy River",by the Osmond Brothers..

Down at the Garden Helper

What are ya doin' tonight?
Ya got no place to go.
If you feel like getting friendly,
Why dont'cha come along with me?

Mighty fine out tonight,
Getcha mouse and hold it tight.
We can take it nice and easy,
you know it won't be long till we'll be, we'll be.....

Down at the Garden Helper,
come as you please.
Down at the Garden Helper,
one big family.
If you're all alone,
you won't be long.
Just bring your keyboard and type along.
Down at the Garden Helper,
everybody follow me.

Better make up your mind,
let's get the show on the road.
We're gonna have a party,
come along or you'll be sorry, sorry.

You know there's plenty of room,
They'll help your yard be all abloom.
We can get nice and cozy,
why don'tcha come along and mosey....

And down,
I said down,
come on down,
I'm goin'....

Down at the Garden Helper,
come as you please.
Down at the Garden Helper,
one big family.
If you're all alone,
you won't be long.
Just bring your keyboard and type along.
Down by the lazy river........
Everybody follow me!

I would try to get it if I don't have it before the reunion. Like G-mom, I know I have it on an album somewhere. I loved Donny Osmond when I was a teen-ager! shocked

I would try my darnedest to be there. I want to meet everyone in real life. I might just have to take up traveling like Jiffymouse! shk
