Due to the imaginative ideas, information, and generoucity of all of you the garden projected budget is down to 50.00 from almost 400.00. That is rather amazing. That is really amazing.

Wow, that's awesome, T! What's the $50 for? Think we can get it down to $0? wink

A rake, some jiffy pots and a few more seeds lol. but that's it. And I don't need any of that until the fall at the earliest. So I'm not worried. Well since the landlord is bagging and bringing me the green stuff if he does the same this fall with the brown I won't need the rake either lol.

The seeds are listed in the seed exchange. I had missed a few earlier. Where my mind goes on occassion only god and my hairdresser know for sure lol. I think I will get the mixed package of snapdragon miniatures even if I do manage to harvest more seeds than I have just so I will have more colors. And everyone needs jiffy pots right? Especially if I'm going to try celosia again next year.

I wonder if there's a way to MAKE peat pots. I have a whopping bag of sphagnum peat moss that I bought before I had a clue. Hmmmm

I dont reckon we can make ya a rake that'll last very long LOL but the seeds are doable.

I get the idea. Cotton cloth/gauze inside the 4" pot, then compost, then the seeds. Nice and easy and little or no transplant shock. I like it. And we are down to 27.00 bucks. And truth to tell I did all the raking I needed with the broom this year lol. It's not as if I am trying to keep the lawn/weed patch (the landlords side) neat and tidy. He won't let me remove the grass weeds for fear of the retaining wall comming down. And he is probably right.

So about 9.00 for the garden. That's just about a miracle. You all are so amazing.

Tammy, you should also check out your local freecycle(dot)org site. You'd be amazed what you can pick up (and get rid of) through it. I mean, if you decide the broom isn't quite cutting it in the future! wink

I love the idea of freecycle. And I can certainly understand why people should pickup what they are getting free. Unfortunately by the time I take a taxi to pick something up I have usually spent more than the item is worth lol. OPEC is not my friend lol. It's 3.00 just for the taxi to show up and then so much a mile and so much for so many seconds and then there is a summer surcharge. And it just keeps on going. What is easily within walking distance costs 5.00 bucks and you can imagine if you actually have to go somewhere. And you have to have the taxi wait because you can't afford to get stuck at someones place for 45 minutes waiting for another taxi.

It was a good thought though thanks.
