Sheri,
I always understood the rule of thumb for their
potty times where just as got up from a nap
or after eating...

If you take them out so many times, do they get confused for WHY they go out???? Play time, runnin' time, fresh air time, oh, yeah, poop time.
LOL!!!

And maybe save some of the poooie, from a couple of loads.... and pile it outside, right where you put the dog..... on the line....... or kennel or however you put the dog outside.. and let the dog know that's where the poop is supposed to be.....

And when you take the dog out, watch the dog go potty.....and say the words as the dogs going..
*Goin' pee~pee, you had to go potty, there's lot's of poop there....whatever you wanna say, but so they start to correlate what they are out there for....

Then when they get up from the nap or eat and you go to take them outside.... ask him/her if she/he has to go pee~pee or poopie... or what ever you want to say......
Then they know that's what they're going outside for....

Does that help a wee~bit???????
