Sure thing, kid. You'd bring a whole new meaning to the lyrics "Oh Beautiful! For spacious skies, for amber waves of grain!...." Who could resist a president able to do that?! You'd get my vote in a heartbeat. So what part of KY do you live in? I lived in Cincinnati for 12 years and got familiar with various parts of KY. I'm particularly fond of camping in the Red River Gorge in the Daniel Boone National Forest, as well as Lexington's Horse Park. Merme

Oh! You live in one of the loveliest regions of our entire country, you lucky girl!
Now I wanna know: does anybody ever sing that "Cindy, Cindy" song to you? You know the one "You ought to see my Cindy gal, she lives a-way down south...get along home, Cindy, Cindy!"
Can't help it, curious minds want to know.

My cousins used to tease me with that song all the time growing up. Whenever we came to Kentucky to visit, they'd sing it everytime they saw me! I was actually NAMED after a song, "Cindy, Oh, Cindy". GetalonghomeCindyCindyohcindy!

My sister was also named after a song. Made me wonder if my parents had no imagination on their own! If we named kids now after songs, they'd have some pretty weird names...

Well, when we were getting ready to have Maxi, picking a name seemed like the hardest thing we'd ever done. We settled on Maximillian for his first name because it works well in a variety of ways. Maxi is cute for a child. Max is believable for an adult. And if he ever gets Knighted by the Queen of England, Sir Maximillian sounds just swell!
But we wanted to include something of Maine in his name because he is the first Mainer ever born on either side of the family. We looked at the names of hundreds of towns in the state and none of them worked for us. How could we name our kid Wiscassset or Ogunquit?! So one night at 2 AM, my then-husband sat up in bed and said "How about Casco?" It isn't just the name of our local bay, but it is also the name of our region where we were living the happiest days of our entire lives. So that became the first of his two middle names.
Each year I take him on a cruise of Casco Bay so he can get a ships view of "his" bay. When he was quite small, he'd tell people "My name is Maximillian Casco Bay!" and I'd remind him to leave out the Bay part. He'd chuckle and say "Oh, ok, Mama!"

That is an AWESOME name! I love it! I wish I'd have put that much thought into my daughter's name. My mom bestowed me with the same middle name SHE had, which I've always disliked.....so what do I do? Turn around and give it to my daughter as a gift to my mom! She hates it, too. Cindy

Every family has gotta have traditions, Cindy. Maybe she'll like it better if you point that out by singing that one line by Hank Williams Jr "It's a family tradition!" making your eyebrows jump up and down while you sing it. Well, at least she'll be able to laugh about it if not exactly thank you.

You have to PM it to me? It is really as bad as all of that?! Yipes!
Maybe it isn't such a bad thing that I do not have a middle name after all. My name is Mary-Ellen (yes, it has a hyphen) but everyone calls me Mary-El for short. With my first name thus jointed into one word, my mom was too tired to think of a middle name that would go along with it. I'm the youngest of six kids, bless her heart. She had to have been running out of good ideas by the time I came along.
