I woke up with a terrible sinus headache this morning & both my kids had to have sinus meds. That should have told me it was gonna rain. At least I don't have to get out & water anything today, seeing as I let the morning slip away while trying to get rid of that darned headache.

Glad we got rain, but we have an out-of-town show tomorrow & it's supposed to rain...makes it hard to move expensive equipment eek Hope that wind doesn't hurt my weeping willow. angell

Who? You or the armadillo??? laugh

Those things are so cool. My cousin had one as a pet and brought it here when they moved back from Florida. They're pretty neat little creatures.

What's the deal with rain and sinus headaches? I always get a sinus headache when it rains, too. So does everyone in my entire family! You should have seen the family reunion a few years back when it was raining! laugh You talk about a bunch of ill-tempered, grouchy people all confined to a large shelter house! laugh Wasn't a pretty sight!

It hasn't rained here in two weeks, but we've got it coming for sure this afternoon. Trying to get more done on my pond before it gets here!

Yep, still raining here. I'm glad, too, we needed the rain but, as I said, it won't be easy making a 1 1/2 hour trip to ElDorado any fun with equipment in the cab of the truck. Luckily, we aren't taking the kids & we have a back seat, so it'll be ok.

Working in the house today, not outside. But, my zinnia is looking much better. I can't wait to collect seeds this year to plant next spring.

Today was interesting o.O
I was in the parallel quad entrence greenhouses, and it started hailing! So after that stopped, it rained and thundered, and lightninged, with horrible winds that made the walls on the greenhouse shudder... and then it became sunny. Bright hot sun.

Then it started thundering, lightning, windy and all that stuff, and then all that stopped, but it was still cloudy, and then it started hailing again. >.< I was so confused!

Then the radio set off an Emergancy Alert System thingy. It said "A tornado was sighted off the coast of South Burwick Main. There will be a tornado alert in effect for the south west Main, and Eastern New Hampshire."

Wentworth greenhouses is in Ruthaford NH, which is like 5 minutes west of Burwick... So ya, ummmmmmmmmm that was a tornado... Duh

Whoa!!! Cool!
I bet that was freaky! I like storms, etc. but if I KNEW it was a tornado, I'd throw Lola in her travel cage and be in the basement so fast it'd make your head spin! I'd be afraid that if the roof blew off the house she'd be GONE!

(Did you say "Toto, I don't think we're in Kansas anymore!" when it was over????)

It's muggy here too......really muggy, I hate it....I don't mind hot, but the humid part is the worst....

My dad swears that he saw a funnel cloud forming near us the other day, and with him being a weather expert I believe him.....but it was rotating and forming then it broke up thankfully......whew.....I hate tornados...

Supposed to be cooler here tomorrow which will be nice.....I think we are going to go up to the lake which is marylands highest elevation(so it's a good bit cooler up there) and play some mini golf...... thumbup

Phoebe, glad you were safe....tornados are awful.....

Ms. Cindy, I'm willing to bet that A lot of the stuff you post makes all of our heads spin here laugh

I didn't say the toto thing, but I went up to Supermike *my boss* and said "That was a tornado!" and he was like "yep." as if it happened every hour. And then i was like "Are we gonna die?" And he goes "Well Phoebe, we're all gonna die sometime." and i was just like :p and we laughed, and then i went back to work weeding.

Last night was scary though o.O I was in my friend Chaz's basement watching him play video games while i chatted with my boyfriend online, and this HUGE crack of thunder shook everything down there! That house is totally insolated, and sound proofed, and i could hear it loud and clear o.O I'm surprised my car alarm didn't go off!

But ya, it thundered and lightninged all night. I love falling asleep to that ^.^ Except when a big thunder wakes me up thumbup

My poor desert rose hasn't gotten any sun for a long time >.o Hasn't lost any more leaves though. But I'm worried that it'll get used to the low light, and when the sun comes back out, it'll lose more of its leaves >.<

Well, we made it to El Dorado, without any rain...then, one the way back at 2am, we had to keep the wipers on because of all the fog & humidity. I started noticing eyes on the side of the road...we began to count, saw at least 20 young deer. Seemed very weird, like something strange was going on in the woods. Usually, you see a deer or 2 but over several miles we would see a deer here & there...like I said, over 20 of them & only one was very old. Weird wild stuff!

njoynit... Are those things kin to snapping turtles???
That is WILD! shk I'm gonna have to look them up on the World Wide Web and find out just what's up with armadillos and snapping turtles!

We were fishing in my catfish pond a few years ago and someone caught a snapping turtle. Well, needless to say, no one wanted to try to get the hook out of it's mouth! laugh So, we cut it's head off and decided to take it home and cook it! Andy threw the head up on the hill behind us, and about an hour later my chihuahua found it. She was barking at it, and every time she'd get real close to it, it would try to bite her! And that's not even the freaky part of the story! shk We took the rest of it home and cleaned it and put the insides in a bucket. The heart was STILL beating! We ate the turtle for supper (it sucked!). The next day I went out and looked in the bucket.....and the heart was STILL beating!
What is up with THAT??? nutz

Weather here is beautiful today......sunny, mid 80's.....couldn't really ask for a nicer day.....what the heck am I doing sitting in here at the computer....lol

Weezie, I'll take 80's anyday....usually in the summer we are upper 90's with high humidity--which has me feeling like I'm melting...This has been a freakish summer with below average temps....not that I'm complaining, just hoping that it isn't an indication of a bad winter....

The sun was out, and everything just looked so pretty today! I took some pictures of my plants for my August 2004 album which is in the works for you guys right now smile I've got about 40 pix right now ^.^ I just need to get a pic of my jades, black rose, and my mom's giant alocasia!

But ya, night was pretty hot, so i decided to spend it in the movie theater with Lisa smile We saw the new Exorcist movie. It was pretty freaky! Not as freaky as the original movie, but still, very freaky!
