I love a good mystery. I love going to the library and getting a stack of books. My hubby just doesn't get it, but that's what we always did when I was a kid. I love books and reading. I'm determined our kids will too.

I like Nora Roberts too BarleyChown and Papito, you can't beat a Louis L'Mour book!! I think I have read all books by both of these authors. I love to read in the fall and winter when it is too cold or wet to be outside. Would rather read than watch TV!

Iowa,
Was the Harry Potter Books any good??
Or more for kids??
They seem soooooooooo big.
I got one for my oldest, hoping
he'd get into reading a little more,
I think it scared him!
He looked at the book and he looked
like a cartoon charactor that the eyeballs
go popping out and the mouth drops to the floor.
He was sort of funny, the expression,
but sort of sad, he seemed like he would of
or wanted to read it, then he opened it
and the print wasn't all that big, rather small
for such a large book and he just said, when I get to be a better reader, I kinda thought the same thing, and I like to read!!

But what did you think of it??
Just curious!!

I also love Fern Michaels and I'm like you loz...a voracious reader. I go to the local Goodwill and stores like that and buy up 10 to 20 paperbacks at a time at about .25 to .50 a piece. Also buy books by my favorite authors and then after awhile, I take them all back to a Goodwill so they can sell them again. wink

When I was in San Francisco last month I got to see Danielle Steele's house....WOW! It is fabulous! It sits on a hill (go figure, in San Francisco) that slopes down toward the bay, so she has wonderful views! I've read all of her books (and seen most of the movies) but the book is always better, whether we're talking Danielle Steel, Louis L'Amour, Steven King, or ayone else....don't you agree?? flw

I agree Glenda,
With Stephin King movies, I refused to watch
the movies, they never do justice to what you're
imagination can come up with and no two are alike!

I did accidently see part of Christine once and was highly disappointed, not because the movie
wasnt' good, it's just the books are better.
