Does anyone have any ideas on what to use for a homemade base for a 12 inch gazing ball? Any ideas are surely welcome.

they can also look good just laying on the ground.I'd get just one of those plant pillars and set on their.or just anything laying round the yard.even set on a tree stump.
i made one out of a old bowlingball and painted the ball a metallic purple and glued those colored glass stoes on all over(were pinkish)was real neat looking....gave to neighbor when moved

Oh Njoynit, that is so neat!

We found an old segment of ceramic drain pipe in our yard and made it into a stand for our sundial. Something like that could work.
