Hi! I'm really glad to find this beautiful board! I don't have any formal horticultural training, but I have been gardening for over 15 years. My favorites to grow are specimen plants, and I'd guess I have about 250 to 300 different species of trees, shrubs, plants and grasses all living in containers in my backyard. I grow house plants too. I dunno, maybe 30 (?) different kinds. I'm always looking for new varieties, and I always have a ton of questions about care, but my friends and family call me when they have a plant question... But now I can come here and talk to people who know a lot more than me!! (which aren't hard to find wink ) Timi

WOW!! So many wonderful responses, so fast!!!!! Thank you all so much for the warm welcome!! You know, I must say, even though I am a California native... I have to admit sometimes it seems as though we are the ones who are on the other side of the planet... But compared to NY'ers... hee hee hee, at least we don't talk funny wink

I do love to paint too - I don't remember who asked me... I'm not very good though. I mostly stick to oils on canvas. I can never get the "perspective" down quite right, you know what I mean? My hubby sculpts. He's awesome.

I would love to put some pictures up, but I don't know how. Could someone tell me? Boy, I'm so happy to find you guys!!! <img border="0" alt="[clappy]" title="" src="graemlins/clappy.gif" /> Timi

Hi Timi, just wanted to say welcome! Kinda new here myself and everyone is just great! I'm in Tennessee so I guess I'm stuck in the middle, huh? Duh

Weezie, I wish I had a pond...we've got a 20 gal tub pond but its not even close to the real thing. I'd love to take over the landlady's stock pond but I don't think the cows would appreciate all my hard work. I'd love to be able the get rid of all the skeeters that live and breed in it! muggs

Hi Dawn Marie! Hi Weezie! Yes, I love ponding. You know Dawn Marie, I started with an 80 gallon "tree pot" I bought at Home Depot for $24.00. I put it on my covered patio and ran a regular aquarium canister style filter on it. I also had a titanium heater in the pot to keep the water a constant temp at night. Being above ground, the temp would fluctuate to much and make the poor fishies lives miserable. All in all, it cost me a little over $100.00 dollars to put it together, but it turned out pretty well. I'll see if I can take a pic. I still have it running on the patio, even though I've since dug a "hole" for a slightly bigger pond. wink Timi
