Re: Sugar Maple Leaf Question

Hi...Im Back! Our sugar maple in our front yard produced a LARGE abundance of seeds this year. The seeds are starting to ripen and our tree is starting to change color already. The foliage canopy, especially the crown was missing about 1/2 of its foliage. We, in Northern IL, had a very unusual summer with hot and dry conditions.. Could this, combined with all the seed production, be the reason of the premature leaf color change and less foliage overall? This is a 30+ year old tree and had never done this before and we would hate to lose it. Greg

Okay, what I would suggest is.. To delete your cookies, from here... *on your PROFILE, at the top* Then go to second column and click on DELETE COOKIES....
Then I would delete your cookies from your home computer and your history..
Then come back to the NEW FORUM and log in..
Any troubles give a big holler!!!!
*WE LOVE FAIRY GARDENS* Not sure how many have them.. *I know Bill the owner of this site/forum has one really neat one..*
I have looked up some stuff, like faeries like to wash their hair in a plant called "Ladies Mantle" cause it's really neat when water holds into the leave, it almost looks like Mercury and it's like they can wash there hair in a sink..
They are sooooooooo much fun, really!!!

Hi Weezie Thanks for the welcome. I am enjoying the site very much. I am glad I happened across it. I tried to repost to the new site. It did not recognize my log in and would not let me do it. Help would be appreciated.

Remember your cucumbers & pumpkins will want shade from the hot afternoon summer sun.
I too just work in last years mulch and have had excellent luck doing so--but in addition I rotate where I place my plants. That also seems to help. aspargus: keep it well mulched and weeded. Good luck--
