I hate technology, even if it does keep me in touch with all of you guys....I just lost my whole post..not gonna go thru it again. Just know that I agree with you both. I have no idea how families get by.

I used to freeze a lot from my garden, and planted enough potatoes to keep from buying them at the store until after the new year. And we "grew" our own beef a few years, but Emily didn't do well with that so we stopped.

Now I still freeze some when I get say extra corn on the cob from someone, but otherwise I just do what I can. What I have to spend for the 2 of us is ridiculous to my notion.And it is not like I am making ridiculously expensive meals.

I'm not going to do the math but things have changed a lot over the years. The per cent of income spent on housing and groceries and utilities has changed drastically through the years. And the amounts have outgrown basic incomes. Those have not grown to the challenge.

I hope you slept well, Tina. I went to bed really early last night 🌙 to see how that worked. I was up around 5 with a sinus headache. I stayed in bed until a few minutes ago. This is way too early for me. It is 15*F outside now. And oh, there is about 2 inches of snow. But hey, it is not on the roads or my sidewalks. That is a first.

The sun is shining, it is cold out but it looks nice from inside.

It is a bit colder now..and there is a light coating of snow on the roads and sidewalks. Good news is the sun is also out. Bad news is, I do not think the furnace has shut off since we have been up.

It is snowing again. My thoughts of a light, snowy Winter have been dashed.....Oh well, it was nice while it lasted.

And my thoughts of a wet winter have gone to the same place.

I am thinking February might be the longest month ahead...even though it is really the shortest.

Yes, I agree as well. We are " supposed" to get freezing weather between now and the weekend..and no warm days to break up the ice and snow. I SO hope the weather people are wrong ! We have to go get our booster covid vaccinations on Wednesday.

Yes, I got and will get Pfizer.....no reaction with the first one..so here is hoping that trend continues.

It's minus -9*F this morning yet the neighboring teens were huddled together freezing in their sneakers and sweat shirts waiting for the bus.

Ah yes, freezing temps. My daughter had her school cancelled because of the ice and cold. They have a lot of rural children in her school and the rural roads are not cleared there and so are more hazardous, so to keep the kids, and the busses safe they cancel school. I have no idea if my Grandson had his school cancelled or not. I sent Valarie a text, but of course, she has not answered me.

The news tonight said at some point it is going to get much colder. It.is still 23/24*F...but over night that is supposed to change and get much colder. And go for the rest of the week and Valentine's Day weekend.

We are in a cold snap as well, it is minus -20*F this morning and I have to leave in a few minutes for a doctor's appt. I plugged in the truck to warm the engine, our vehicles have block heaters installed in them. You plug them in when extreme cold is in the forecast....it keeps damage at bay.

We are leaving.to get our covid boosters in about 2 hours. So far the roads are just sorta bad. Not supposed to be really bad until the afternoon. I hope we are home by then.
Weather channel says it is 24 but feels like 13.

We are home..got home a bit after 12. We have showered, eaten lunch, and I have let Val know that we got home safe.

No vaccines yet. I am eligible due to age but none near in town. They are out in most places nearby. They are available in other towns in my county but I'll wait until they restock nearby. I do live in the largest county in the US.

I hope you get your vaccine soon Tina.

Well, I'm not going out anywhere so I don't feel much endangered. I'd rather see more people who are working out in the jungle get a vax. And people with comorbidities and teachers, etc.
