A Gardeners Forum Forums Thread Like Summary - Chickadee questions

Hi,
This might be a dumb question
But there is a Black capped chickadee calling and calling for either his mate, or for a mate.
He has been doing this for almost 2 months now. He will come to our house, eat a bit at the feeders then do his fee bee about a dozen times, then fly a half mile to my neighbors and do the same.
I can't help but get sad and it actually has gotten me so upset I come inside when I hear him
Is he calling for his mate, that possiblity died, or is he trying to find a mate?

We've got some kind of loud bird, maybe a mockingbird, that has started singing at night. Most of the night and it is LOUD.
