Here's my 7.5 foot tall Texas Star Hibiscus, with 2 blooms on it to start with.

mines not very big at all this year and the other seeds I started are very slow growing.Yet the year Rita visited my tree was 10 ft and blown flat.

It is *almost* hardy here.... can go down to -10 degrees I read. In a normal winter, if we have those any more, the -10 would be fine.

Does it really need wet soil all the time? That's pretty hard to come by here in the summer :(

Is it easy to start from seed? Any pointers you might have would be greatly appreciated.

Those TX Stars are some beautiful flowers. Mine is not that tall, due to freeze last winter.

I just harvested seeds from mine and it's still blooming!

mines still hanging in there.maybe it needs another shovelful of compost.
Magnolia....how tall is yours?mines barely 3 ft.my one from last year is shorter.The grown seedling is actually growing better compared to it.(WS seedling)
