Well I just took my first cutting from my plant. Hopefully it will root successfully.

It's starting to curl it's leaves up again. I'm thinking that I haven't been giving it enough water once it starts to bloom. So I'm going to increase the amount it gets. Hopefully that will fix the problem.

Over the past 9 or 10 months I've gotten cuttings from four different kalanchoes. I'm no expert, but those things seem to never have any problem rooting. They grow so much and root so easily. I think the doggone things are hyper! lol

Yeah, mine seem to do better with lots of water while they're growing. The first one I had seemed to lose a lot of leaves because I was afraid of watering it too much. Now I water as soon as the soil dries. I don't wait. The first one I got was a lavender scallops. The real name of it starts with an F. Anyway, over the past several months, I've cut it back several times. I've gone from having just the one in the pot to having six. They're really, really prolific plants. It should root.

Thanks for the info. I'm definitely going to increase the water then. And I may be looking for a bigger pot soon. I don't want it to break the one it is in and it's getting pretty tight. So after it blooms I'll be looking at putting it in one of the larger pots.

I got one for Mother's Day this year from DD's and DH. I forgot to water it for months, I went in last week to dispose of the poor thing and reuse the pot and lo and behold there was three new "stems" of growth. Mind you the soil was completely and totally dried out. So I got it out of the store container it was in and repoted it in a hanging basket pot, trimmed off the dead blooms and leaves, watered it real well and it has doubled in size! They really are resilient.
