Wow that's just great. I'm trying to do some cucs in my greenhouse this year in a container. Lost the first set so I'm trying another set. Now I'm really glad I tried after seeing yours.

I actually lost the first set of seedlings as well, in that same container. I started them in the greenhouse but I think I put them out a little too soon and they didn't like the cool spring. Then I started more and look what I got! Definitely you should keep trying.

I LOVE that geranium with the variegated leaves. I'm going to look for one.

how do you get so many cuke without losing the whole plants to cuke beetles! those arn things have eventually killed every cuke plant i have for the past 4 years! i've opnly seen a fwe this year, but again the bottoms of my plants- they leaves are turing yellow and withering up and dying. and they eat a bit of the flesh of the cuke too. i hate those darned things!

I think most cukes "tire out" at the bottom and shrivel/yellow/die. I know mine are, but the tops are vigorous and still putting out cukes like crazy. I pick my cukes about 2-3 inches long and usually pick 20-30 a day. I've made so many sweet pickles, garlic dill, and sweet pickle relish that I think I'm going to die before I eat all the jars!

CONGRATULATIONS, keylime! I'm just clearing space for my beginner veggie experience. I can only plant around perimeter of backyard (where sun hits over 8 hrs.). I have a new dowelled railing that cannot be used. I thought i would turn it sideways and use it as a cuke and bean trellis? What d'ya think? kat2007
