My husband and I just built a 12 X 25 pergola off of our deck and would like some help deciding what kind of vine to grow up and over it. We would like something that has blooms and has pretty thick folage. If anyone has any suggestions we would appreciate it.

I've seen wisteria growing, really lush foliage and beautiful blooms, fragrant also, but I heard unless you get cuttings they can take a few years to bloom from seed. Clematis, maybe? For an annual, try morning glories, moon flowers, or scarlet runner beans

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. Mary Ann LaPensee

i would suggest multiple vines for different seasons.

bignoniaceae family

wisteria

jasminoides

i also reccomend lacing the pergola with twinkle lights. they won't harm the vvines and add for a nice effect.

I love the sweet scents wafting in the breeze. I stop to admire the vibrant colors of all living things. And people think me odd. Then ODD I am!!!
